Tuition & Scholarships

Exceptional Value

With the lowest tuition in the Big Ten, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is a top choice for international students. Nebraska is one of the top public universities in the United States (U.S. News & World Report) and was named a “Best Value” by The Princeton Review.

Scholarships

International students are automatically considered for scholarships up to US$15,000 per year when admitted to Nebraska. Apply by May 1.

Career Support for International Students

University Career Services offers tailored career development support for international students, including 1-to-1 coaching, résumé reviews, interview preparation and mentorship opportunities. These personalized services are designed to help students navigate their career path and achieve their internship and post-graduation employment goals.

Additionally, Career Services supports international students interested in gaining practical experience through F1 Optional Practical Training (OPT), which allows for up to 12 months of work authorization in a field related to their major. Graduates in STEM-designated programs may be eligible for a 24-month extension, enabling up to three years of hands-on experience in the United States.

Discover Research Opportunities

The Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Experience (UCARE) program at Nebraska offers an opportunity for students to work 1-to-1 with a world-class professor to conduct cutting-edge research. The program is designed to help you prepare for graduate school and explore your research interests in various fields, including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), business and architecture.

University Honors Program

You can take your education to the next level through Honors courses, research projects, faculty mentorship, internships, study abroad, national scholarships and fellowships for graduate and professional programs.

Honors community and cohort-based programs include the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management and the Nebraska Business Honors Academy.

Apply to the University Honors Program by November 15.

Intensive English Program

The Intensive English Program (IEP) is designed for students who wish to communicate effectively in English for various personal and academic purposes. IEP students develop a broad understanding of language and culture that prepares them for higher-level language study.

In addition to classes, IEP offers cultural events and experiential-learning opportunities on campus and in the Lincoln community, as well as networking and other professional development opportunities.
